What is Physical Imaging Standard to Cloud?
With Physical Imaging Standard, MSPs can backup complete systems as an image and securely store them in the cloud. This means that regardless of how the local data repository is doing, as long as your customer has a working environment, you can help get them back up and running again.
Data is encrypted, compressed, and deduplicated, and MSPs will have full archiving and scheduling options available that are consistent with other backup sets. In addition, there are multiple restore options from the cloud, including restoring volumes to a VHD/X file to a specified location, restoring the physical volume data to a Hyper-V virtual machine, and bare metal restore.
How do these capabilities help MSPs?
The Physical Imaging Standard to Cloud plugin gives MSPs more flexibility, making it easier to choose the best data protection solution and restore options for each customer without added management complexity. With Intronis Backup, you can create physical image backup sets directly from the same interface you use to protect files and folders, Exchange databases, virtual machines, and more.
The plugin also helps MSPs simplify meeting compliance requirements, such as HIPAA, because data is encrypted in transit and at rest. There is a full range of retention options, and data can be stored in the cloud anywhere from a few days to forever.

Are there any other highlights MSPs will want to know about?
The plugin introduces a new kernel-based driver, the Barracuda Volume Change Tracking Filter (BaCBT). Physical Imaging Standard backups use the Changed Block Tracking driver to keep track of the changes made on the machine over time. This reduces this time needed to identify changes that need to be backed up because all changes are tracked and served up to the Intronis Backup agent as soon as the backup starts.
