New from Intronis: Barracuda Essentials for Office 365

Posted by Rick Faulk on May 4, 2016 9:30:00 AM

Office 365 is taking off in a big way with small and medium-sized businesses. According to Microsoft, 50,000 SMBs sign up for the cloud service every month. That’s significant, and based on the conversations I’ve had with our IT channel partners, I know it’s having an impact on MSPs as more and more of their customers make the switch.

That’s why we’re so excited to introduce our newest MSP-optimized offering: Barracuda Essentials for Office 365. The service enhances Office 365’s built-in features with added email security, archiving, and backup, helping MSPs secure and protect their customers’ Exchange emails and OneDrive for Business files.

New name, new logo, same commitment to MSPs

Posted by Rick Faulk on Mar 21, 2016 12:00:43 PM

You’ve probably noticed that we recently updated both our logo and our name. The new logo gives our branding a fresh look, but it also tells a story about who we are as an organization.

Let me explain.

We are now Intronis MSP Solutions by Barracuda. The difference is subtle, but I think it sends a few important messages to both our MSP partners and the IT channel.

How do I write a business plan

Posted by Rick Faulk on Apr 1, 2015 9:00:00 AM

Whether you’re a new MSP or an established service provider, you should take the time to create a business plan. It’s critical to ensuring the success and survival of your company.

Having a few general goals in mind isn’t enough. You need to carefully analyze each of your objectives, break down what you need to do to achieve those goals, and then get it all down on paper—and I suggest just ONE sheet of paper!

The Intronis U2 Plan: Why we did it, why it works

Posted by Rick Faulk on Jun 20, 2014 8:55:00 AM

It's been a little over a week since we unveiled our new UPlan. As expected, I have received overwhelmingly positive feedback from around the Channel.

As also expected, we’ve heard from some in the industry who are wondering: “How are they able to offer the entire Intronis ECHOplatform for a fixed cost with unlimited cloud and unlimited local storage?” One partner went so far as to ask us if we had gone nuts. Another potential partner visited our booth at a recent tradeshow to "hear about the lies" because he just couldn’t believe it was true.

We told him, “It’s true!”

The end of per-GB pricing: The Intronis ECHOplatform and U2 Plan

Posted by Rick Faulk on Jun 10, 2014 9:01:00 AM

A few months ago I described our vision of a new way forward for Intronis: as your single-source provider of data protection. This week, that vision comes to fruition in the form of the Intronis ECHOplatform and our new “U2 Plan”, which puts an end to the industry’s legacy per gigabyte pricing model.

Making Intronis your single-source data protection provider

Posted by Rick Faulk on Apr 11, 2014 12:30:00 PM

Several months ago, I took a trip to Chicago to visit with a few Intronis partners in the area. I was joined by our VP of Partner Success Jasmine Lombardi, and our goal was to re-connect with these partners and find out what Intronis could be doing to better serve them.

We learned a lot about the features, services, and support our partners want, but one message in particular really resonated with me. It involved MSPs’ need to save time and money by consolidating all of their data protection tools with one solution.

One partner put it very succinctly, saying "Give me one product… a single dashboard… the same tool that does everything."

The IT channel had a lot on its mind in 2013 – virtualization continued to emerge as a pivotal technology, BYOD strategies made headway in organizations everywhere, and the move to the cloud was as strong as ever. Although these trends will definitely stay front and center as the New Year wears on, there are a handful of other major developments on the horizon.

Some of these will affect how you interact and support your own customers, while others could lead to radical changes in the way you operate your business.
