New faces, new opportunities
After five years with Barracuda running the UK and Ireland business and with more than 20 years working in the IT industry, I know the UK channel well. Barracuda has already built up a very strong partner community in EMEA, so there is not only a great opportunity for those IT solution providers to work with Intronis MSP Solutions by Barracuda, but I also know that there is a vibrant and dynamic MSP community that we have not worked with to date. Both can leverage our simple and secure data protection solutions to service their customers’ needs.
Talking to MSPs in the UK, we’ve found that there isn’t much crossover with the reseller channel, which gives us a chance to help a whole new sector. I’ve also started to see a number of traditional resellers transitioning to offer managed services as their customers’ needs and the market changes. Intronis has been working with MSPs in North America for many years, so we really understand the business model and can help them navigate through that change.
Growing security concerns
I also see demand for simple and secure data protection solutions increasing quickly. You just need to take a look at the news. There are new data breaches making headlines every day, and both the enterprise sector and small and medium-sized businesses are concerned. That means IT service providers need to offer SMB customers solutions that will help keep their information safe from data loss and other threats. This is true in the U.S. and EMEA.
Now that the Intronis ECHOplatform and Barracuda Backup-Intronis MSP Edition are both available in EMEA, we are able to help offer our partners more recurring revenue opportunities and allow them to meet those data protection needs. It’s crucial that MSPs and IT solution providers offer their customers solutions that can be purchased and deployed in whatever way best suits their customers’ needs, allowing them to focus on their core business.
A match for monthly billing
Something I’ve had a lot of feedback on already from end users and partners in the UK is the desire for a monthly billing model. MSPs like our fixed pricing model and little or no upfront costs that are available for both the Intronis ECHOplatform and our appliance-based solution, Barracuda Backup – Intronis MSP Edition. This fits how MSPs do business with their clients, making billing simpler and more predictable without limiting their customers’ local storage needs or the number of devices protected. It makes it easier to sell backup solutions to budget-conscious SMBs, making sure those customers are properly protected.
Overall, I’m really excited about this new opportunity, and I look forward to meeting more MSPs and IT service providers in the UK and across EMEA and finding out how we can build our businesses together.
