Oracle is trying very hard to be a cloud vendor these days with its chairman declaring, "Amazon's lead is over." As the writer points out, it's going to take much more than ranting to make that happen, and no matter how loudly the chairman says it, it doesn't make it a reality.

Microsoft, like so many companies these days, sees AI as a key underlying technology moving forward, and this week it combined all of its intelligence pieces into a single division comprising 5,000 people. The cloud is a big part of this future vision.

Last week, Google took a marketing bow on the reorganization of the cloud division it formed when Diane Greene took over last year.
